Earn Free Subscription Time by Referring Techs and Companies

FreelanceAudioVisual.com grows when more AV professionals join. That's why we built a referral program that rewards the techs who help build the network — with badges, recognition, and free subscription time.

How it works

Every tech on the platform gets two unique referral links on their dashboard:

• One for inviting technicians: freelanceaudiovisual.com/signup/tech?ref=your-slug
• One for inviting companies: freelanceaudiovisual.com/signup/company?ref=your-slug

When someone signs up through your link, they're tracked as your referral. You can see all your referrals, their status, and your progress on the Referrals page in your dashboard.

What counts as a verified referral

For tech referrals to count as "verified," the person you referred needs to:

1. Complete their signup
2. Fill out at least 60% of their profile
3. Get at least one booking or show confirmation

Company referrals count as soon as they sign up.

Recruiter badges

As your referral count grows, you earn badges that display on your profile. There are two badge tracks:

Tech Recruiter Track (10 levels): Crew Scout (1) → Crew Builder (5) → Crew Captain (10) → all the way to Network Director (1,000 verified techs)

Company Recruiter Track (8 levels): Client Connector (1) → Production Connector (3) → up to Network Director (75 companies)

Your profile shows only your highest badge in each track. So if you've referred 10 verified techs, you'll see the "Crew Captain" badge — not all the ones below it.

Free subscription rewards

Here's where it gets real:

• 100 total recruits (any mix of techs and companies) → 1 month of Supporter tier free
• 1,000 total recruits → 1 full year of Pro tier free

Each reward can only be claimed once. When you hit the milestone, a "Claim Reward" button appears on your Referrals page. Click it and your tier upgrades instantly.

Tips for recruiting

• Share your referral link in AV-related Facebook groups, Discord servers, and Slack channels
• Send it directly to techs you work with on shows
• Post it in your Instagram or LinkedIn bio
• Mention it at industry events: "Hey, have you signed up for FreelanceAudioVisual.com?"

The more people on the platform, the more useful it becomes for everyone — more crew calls, more companies searching for techs, more bookings. You're not just earning badges; you're building the network you'll benefit from.
